Day 24 – Your favorite movie and what it’s about.

My favorite movie is The Quick and the Dead. It’s a western about an unruly town ruler, (Gene Hackman) a preacher, (Russel Crowe) and a mysterious girl who is mysteriously good with a gun, (Sharon Stone) and lots and lots of gun fighting 🙂 Great story, great acting, great action, great effects, best movie ever.

Day 25 – Someone who fascinates you and why.

Hmm…My pastor,  Jeff Metzger. I’ve never actually had a conversation with him, but I’ve listened to him every week for five years, and he’s a ridiculously interesting person. He has the funniest stories! His sermons are always outside the box and convincing. His wisdom reminds me of Solomon, legit. You could ask him anything about the Bible and he would have the answer. His office is book, upon book, upon book, organized perfectly. He has the most interesting past, he’s traveled and preached everywhere and experienced so many things. But what amazes me most is his unrelenting faith. He started this huge, successful church from absolutely nothing because God told him to. And just look at where that giant leap of faith has gone. It’s true, if you have faith as a mustard seed you can move mountains. I can’t wait to sit down and talk with him someday.

A lot of people fascinate me. I’m gonna do more of these. I’m reading Acts, so I think Paul is next. Then King David.

Oh yeah, see what I did with the title there?

This is the song Cody and Cory are playing at church along with my message this Sunday. (I’m speaking! Yay!) Ahem, anyway, I love the lyrics. Also,

This song nearly makes me cry, honestly, especially when they played it at the retreat. I wasn’t the only one though.

This Sunday is going to be awesome! I just have to make it through the week.

Day 8: A Time I Felt Most Satisfied With My Life

I don’t know if there was any specific moment that I can recall, but after thinking about it I think it was when I went to Grace Church. I was so involved, I had friends, and I was close to God. Breakout was probably the most helpful and fun thing I’ve ever been a part of. Just getting together and talking about God, growing in our faith together, helping the church and the community in the process. All those times after Breakout too, playing Mario Kart and football and all that, it just felt right.

I don’t know if it’s good or bad that I was most satisfied with life in 4th grade. Probably both. Good because everyone should have a good childhood and get an early relationship with God going. But bad because we should be growing in that relationship and other relationships every day. But that’s the only time I can think of. Life was simple and fun with those people in that environment. I’m glad I still talk to them and see them when I visit though. I miss that church…But I’m working on getting involved in my new church and making new friends. I want that back.
